Hey guys, i'm fairly new to the game and to be honest, in the beginning i would It'd be super easy to just pick up some random talents and skills and i would have no problems with choosing stats for my character, but man was I wrong. This game has soooo much differient stuff, I keep learning about it.

So anyways as a scrub I was wondering, what's some good ways to about early game, what stats should I focus on, is there any paticular talents that's better early?
I'm looking for something with either heavy dps or cc, and I love combining differient skills.
Btw is it possible to reset stats, talents and so on later?

I'm no expert on builds but first of all – yes you can respec your characters as much as you like from Act 2 and onwards.
DPS wise, obviously magic attacks scale with intelligence so that's your priority for levelling. You'll also want to chuck some points into memory so you can memorise more spells and a few into Wits to increase your initiative. Wits also helps increase your critical chance so if you run savage sortilege you'll want to pump so points in here even more.
Bear in mind any build you run is going to want to spread around their skills somewhat to pick up a few abilities that are near essential for any player. So I'm going to drop this post here I saw that had a good outline of what skills to buy into for which neat skills, the first bit is a rant about Fextralife so you can skim through that
If you're going for a pyro build after you've got the foundation skills you'll want to pump up your pyro stat for extra damage, which is obvious I suppose. Likewise with geo, aero, and hydro.
Generally for my mages I'll pick two elements that go well together and focus on those, ie Geomancer and Pyro for the oil explosion synergy or aero and hydro for shock synergy.
Talents you want to look for:
Elemental Affinity – good if you have a cheap aoe spell to start the battle with ie rain or if you're a necromancer elf flesh sacrifice.
Torturer – just excellent for mages
Savage Sortilege – mentioned earlier, great for adding damage
Hothead – decent talent if you don't find yourself taking too many vitality hits.
Executioner – great if you regularly finish off enemies
Far Out Man – okay if your character takes a stand off sniping approach to battle.
Also just a note bear in mind that necromancer and some polymorph spells do physical damage so they're generally better for a physical damage party and they're impacted by warfare.
