As players battle it out in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4“s online multiplayer arenas, they may notice some people running around with unique skins or outfits for their Specialists. Naturally, players may want to add some of these special outfits to their in-game collection, but as it turns out, there is only one way to get new multiplayer outfits in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 at launch, and it can”t actually be done in-game.
To get new outfits in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, players will have to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, which comes with bonus multiplayer skins. There is no way to unlock outfits by completing in-game challenges and there is no secret method to getting the outfits either. This means that players have to spend a minimum of $99.99 to get the bonus outfits and skins for Black Ops 4“s multiplayer mode.
Even after purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, Black Ops 4 players still won”t have access to the bonus outfits right away. On the contrary, they will have to reach level 7 in multiplayer before customizing their Specialists even becomes an option in-game. At that point, though, they will be able to use their bonus outfits to give themselves a unique look online.

It”s probable that Activision and Treyarch will add more new outfits to Black Ops 4 at some point, but their delivery method has yet to be determined. It”s possible that all new outfits and skins will be sold as microtransactions, and the only way players can get them is by spending real money. Alternatively, new outfits could be added as rewards for multiplayer or completing special in-game events, but there hasn”t been any clarification just yet.
While Black Ops 4 multiplayer fans may be disappointed that they can”t unlock any new outfits in-game, other game modes offer some unlockable skins. The Blackout battle royale mode, for instance, features a slew of unlockable characters pulled from past Black Ops games as well as Black Ops 4“s Specialists. Unlocking these characters is no easy feat, but at least it can be done by actually playing the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
