I played a lot of Killing Floor and reached the point where I only played Hell on Earth. My favorite class was the berserker. Katana/Fireaxe combo. Proper timing to hit spideys mid air, axe to stunlock scrakes. The axe dance for fleshpounds. If you played right, you were basically unstoppable, even being last man alive on any wave.

Coming into Killing Floor 2, I suck with the Berserker. It's the only class I've died with on normal. I also noticed that there was no fireaxe. So what's the meta? Is the berserker as good as he used to be? Is there a new meta class for Hell on Earth?

Where's muh M7a3?
Learn how to parry.
That's the reason why you can survive with 30 hp left.

Same in Killing Floor 2 when you learn how to play it and have levelled it to 25.

You can never have too many guns
Berserker is definitely much stronger when you get more skills. Learn the timing of the Zed attacks so you can parry them, it can definitely come in handy. The Eviscerator is probably your best source of ranged damage, and can deal with Scrakes and Fleshpounds really well with headshots, not to mention being good with parrying

I mained support in kf1 but I mainly play zerk in kf2. There are some changes that were made but it is definitely the closest to overpowered. I found that getting to about level 20 I was able to start soloing HoE. I don't make it every time but often enough I enjoy trying.

A CD player that plays CD with players who also play CD. *sigh*
The Beserker is kind of special in its leveling. Where many perks have 1/2 significant power spikes with new skills, Beserker has one every 5 levels.

Beserker to me felt horrible to level as its low level power was just garbage IMO. When you reach level 25 you are nearly impossible to kill if you play it well, high sustainability, mobility and good damage depending on build.
Most META Beserker build is probably Eviscerator, Katana and HMTech-101 Medic Pistol/50. Desert Eagle.
With the skillset being RRRLR, I personally prefer RLLLR more with higher sustain and lower damage.

I do have to get used to this 25 level system. It seems almost the same as KF1, with 5 tiers of new skills. But then there's all the in between level bonuses. I'll have to familiarize myself with this.

Berzerker can still solo carry in KF2, but it's a lot slower at doing so with big zeds. The idea of training/kiting forever is STILL a thing, but I don't think the “32 zeds” part is still applicable. It's worth noting, many people are against kiting. I don't know what it is, but LOTS of peeps are afraid of trying. The game is much easier/more managable for all perks, idk what the problem is. XD
I usually play Medic, but my buddy is Zerk…so some info may be incomplete. His kit is usually Pulverizer/RPG (although boss wave, he goes Eviscerator). Katana is amazing for killing small/med zeds, but it can't touch the big zeds. Smash + Pulv should solve all problems (but I'm not sure how many shots it takes).
Personally, Zerk/Med/GS are the only perks that move fast enough to stand alone in HoE. I generally don't select other perks until there are at least two of those chosen first. My experience is that Zerker is STILL the most commonly chosen perk by rndms in HoE. Tbh, I think it's cause of this weird thing where the Zerker doesn't really have to change their playstyle based on size of party or perks chosen. The battle is wherever the Zerk is, they can stay with the party or wander aimlessly; it does not directly impact their chances of winning. While parrying by itself can take some practice to get the hang of (how many parries in a row can you get? 8-10 w/o missing? cause that's about what you need :D), I think Zerker is the easiest perk to be successful with.

If you wanted to go my route and play the dedicated Medic, my biggest advice is make REALLY good use of your melee bash. It's my primary weapon. Since your main job is to keep everyone at full HP, bash anything near you or a teammate. Often that's all they needed to get the kill/be safe and since you're always aiming for the head, sometimes you'll get kills. Buy order: Pistol (starting) > Rifle by wave 2/4, 3/7, 4/10 > Goblin by wave 3/4, 5/7, 8/10. SMG has same healing capability as Pistol, skip it. If you like the flavor of Shotgun + Pistol over Goblin, feel free, but I like the dmg on big zeds/boss with Goblin. This means I don't have ammo early and MUST rely heavily on bashing.
