In July, a prank war erupted between Night School actor Kevin Hart and The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon that involved a llama and a billboard. Yes, really; at one time, this craziness would surely have been worthy of showcasing on Punk’d. But now with August winding down and the pranks having come and gone, Hart and Cannon recently came together and joked about how many children they each have.

Kevin Hart has been keeping busy lately hosting his own talk show, Peacock’s Hart to Heart, and Nick Cannon has been one of the series’ more recent guests, following being folks like Kelly Clarkson, Cameron Diaz and Don Cheadle (who had his own amusing exchange with Hart). Among the topics Cannon discussed during his Hart to Heart appearance was being a father, and when Hart asked about how many children he has, the Drumline actor humorously responded (via People):
You”re gonna put me on the spot? It”s like Spades, I got eight and a possible nine. I like children, damn it!
I’m sorry to burst your bubble, Nick, but the number’s actually a little lower than that. Going into 2021, Nick Cannon had four children total: his twins, daughter Monroe and son Moroccan Scott, with now-ex-wife Mariah Carey were born in 2011, and with model Brittany Bell, he has a son, Golden, and a daughter, Powerful Queen, born in 2017 and late 2020, respectively. But 2021 has been a landmark year for Cannon on the kids front, with three more youths being added to the lineup. His twin sons, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, with DJ Abby De La Rosa were born in June, and in August, he welcomed his son Zen, whom he shares with model Alyssa Scott.
Now this isn’t to say that Nick Cannon could eventually become a father of eight or nine, if not even more, but right now, the children total rests at seven. Regardless, Cannon bluntly summarized who he is as a father with the following:
As for Kevin Hart, while he’s not at Nick Cannon’s quantitative level in this area of life, he also has a fair amount of children. From his marriage to Torrei Hart, Hart has a daughter named Heaven Leigh, born in 2005 and a son named Hendrix, born in 2007. From his current marriage to Eniko Parrish, Hart’s son Kenzo was born in 2017, and his daughter Kaori May was born in September 2020, just three months before Cannon’s son Zen arrived. So together, Hart and Cannon have enough kids to comprise a football team.

As evidenced by the Hart to Heart interview, Kevin Hart and Nick Cannon are on good terms with one another after they exchanged pranks. This all started when Cannon sent a llama to Hart’s house for his birthday, and Hart retaliated by renting a digital billboard to display Cannon’s actual phone number for those looking for advice on fatherhood. Needless to say that Cannon was subsequently bombarded by calls, although he ended up having fun speaking with a lot of fans.

Along with his presenting duties on The Masked Singer, Nick Cannon is back to keeping busy these days with Nick Cannon Presents: Wild “N Out on MTV. Meanwhile, along with his new talk show, Kevin Hart most recently starred in the Netflix movie Fatherhood, and he has features like The Man from Toronto and Borderlands coming up.
